Release 2024-10

This release includes new features and improvements that make SOTO easier to use and more efficient.

SOTO

Improved stability of gripper and backpack

The interaction between the gripper of SOTO and the backpack is more stable. Previously, there were instances where the robot encountered an error while the gripper was rotating towards the backpack.

Improved tracking of KLTs without barcodes

SOTO is now more reliable when picking KLTs that do not contain a barcode. This improvement allows the robot to efficiently collect empty KLTs and transport them to their destination for refilling.

Magazino Fleet Manager (MFM)

Create multiple elevators on the same floor

In the Environment Editor it is possible to create multiple elevators per floor. For instructions on how to add an elevator, see section “Create elevators”.

Note: This feature requires a SYNAOS master controller.

View elevators in live view

Elevators are now displayed in the Live View. You can also switch between floors using the dropdown menu, or click on a robot to automatically follow its movement across levels.

Note: This feature requires a SYNAOS master controller.

Automatically fill input fields with a handscanner

In the Order Overview, you can now automate data entry when scanning barcodes by defining a transport matrix. This can be done through a CSV file that allows you to specify actions triggered by specific barcodes, such as automatically populating fields like KLT size and sink compartment.

To get started, navigate to the Order Overview and open the 'Transport matrix' tab. Download the pre-filled template, modify it with your desired barcode actions, and upload it in the same location. This simplifies creating custom automation rules for your barcode scanning workflow.

Technical Specifications

This section provides detailed information about the technical specifications of SOTO. This information is intended for technical experts who need to understand the inner workings of SOTO to deploy, troubleshoot, or improve the performance of SOTO.

Run maintenance tasks on SOTO display

The SOTO display provides an option to run maintenance tasks. These can be executed by switching the robot into manual mode and navigating to the ‘Tools’ section in the settings menu.

The following maintenance tasks are available via the display:

  1. Move SOTO conveyor belts

  2. Check light curtain alignment

More automated tasks will be added to the SOTO display in future releases.

MFM supports partially constrained navigation according to VDA5050 norms

The MFM now support partially constrained navigation, as defined in the VDA5050 standard, to plan and report SOTO's driving path. The SOTO robot now navigates along a path that is defined by the master controller. This enables it to operate effectively in mixed fleet environments with high traffic volume, where coordinated movement is essential.
